Progressive lenses give you clear distance, computer and reading vision in one pair of glasses, with no line across the lens. They are the usual choice after 40, when reading small print gets harder and you start taking your glasses off, or reaching for a second pair, to read.
Home eye test ₹100 for the whole family · Free eye test at our Arumbakkam store
At LenzKare Optical & Eye Clinic in Arumbakkam, an optometrist tests your eyes, takes the fitting measurements a progressive lens needs, and helps you choose the right design of Fusion, our own in-house progressive lens. We also fit Essilor Varilux and ZEISS progressives on request. We check the fit when you collect your glasses and help you get used to them.
You may need progressives if you are over 40, you hold your phone further away to read, you take your glasses off to see near, or you keep switching between two pairs.
All four give clear vision for TV, laptop and phone. The higher the design, the wider the clear area and the smaller the blur at the sides.
Price is for a complete pair of lenses; with Buy 1 Get 1 you get two complete pairs (frame + lenses) and pay for the higher-priced pair.
We also fit genuine Essilor Varilux and ZEISS progressive lenses, at a discount on the brand's price. Ask our optometrist about them during your eye test.

Lenses whose power changes gradually from top to bottom: distance at the top, computer and arm's-length in the middle, reading at the bottom. Unlike bifocals there is no visible line.
Usually people over 40 who need help for reading (presbyopia) and also for distance or computer work, and who want one pair for everything instead of switching glasses.
Most people adapt in a few days to two weeks. Wear them all day, move your head rather than only your eyes, and look through the lower part to read. If they still feel uncomfortable, come back and we will recheck the fit and measurements.
Narrow suits a first pair on a budget; Wide gives larger reading and computer zones; Custom HD is digital freeform with less side blur; Individual is personalised to your eyes and frame for the widest, most natural vision. Our optometrist will suggest the right one for your work and budget.
Premium designs are made digitally (freeform) and often personalised to you and your frame, giving wider reading and computer zones, less side blur and quicker adaptation. Thinner high-index material and better coatings add to the price.
You can choose a frame and progressive lens online, but progressives need fitting measurements such as pupil distance and fitting height. We take them at the store or during a home eye test so the lenses are made right.
Yes, the middle zone is for screens. If you work long hours on a computer, ask about wide or office designs and blue-cut coatings.
